We stay in Carmarthen for our tour, ideal for visiting this delightful corner of Wales.

Monday

Depart from a local pick up point in the morning travelling to Carmarthen and arriving late afternoon at Ivy Bush Royal Hotel. 4 nights stay - dinner, bed and breakfast. Enjoy a welcome drink on arrival.

Tuesday

This morning we travel west to the popular small seaside resort of Saundersfoot, where we stay awhile with time to explore the little harbour, before leaving for the short ride to Tenby. With the old town walls, interesting little side streets and alleyways to explore and superb beaches, Tenby is South West Wales's main holiday resort and is always a pleasant and friendly place to visit. Our return takes us via Pendine Sands and Laugharne, former home of Dylan Thomas.

Wednesday

Our excursion today takes us to the City of Swansea. We visit the Welsh National Waterfront Museum on Oystermouth Road, have a break in Mumbles before returning to the city for an afternoon of exploration and maybe a stroll around Swansea's beautiful marina.

Thursday

Today our excursion takes us first to Newcastle Emlyn for a short break, moving on to Cardigan, at the mouth of the Teifi River, which flows into Cardigan Bay. We have time for lunch and a look around before we head around the Preseli Mountains and make our way back to Carmarthen.

After breakfast we leave and begin our homeward

Ivy Bush Royal Hotel

 

The 3 star rated Ivy Bush Royal Hotel is within walking distance of Carmarthen town centre and was once a favourite retreat for Lord Nelson and Lady Hamilton, Sympathetically modernised, the hotel retains its old world charm blended with modern day facilities. All bedrooms are en suite, and all have television, telephone, hairdryer and tea & coffee making facilities. The hotel has a lift.
