Blackpool Seaside Summer Break

Blackpool is one of Britain’s favourite seaside resorts, with so much to see and do there is guaranteed fun for all the family. If you are looking for some adventure why not take a trip up the Blackpool tour which stands 158 meters high, or get your adrenaline pumping at the Blackpool pleasure beach, where you can ride the Uk’s tallest rollercoaster, the Big One. If the pleasure beach doesn’t take your fancy there is so much more to do, you can visit the South Pier which is a fantastic day out for all ages. The Laughing Donkey family bar host great free live entertainment as well as a beer garden with the best views in town.

Blackpool is also home to a Madame Tussauds, which contains a whole host of famous faces for you to visit and pose for a selfie with. We’ve got TV royalty with the likes of Sir Bruce Forsyth, Sir David Attenborough and Ant & Dec, alongside actual royalty in the form of Prince William, The Duchess of Cambridge and Her Majesty the Queen. Plus, many more of your favourite celebrities!

Blackpool was home to the first electric tramway in mainland Britain back in 1885 and the operational fleet is comprised of many different tram cars that have been seen on the Blackpool tramway since the turn of the 20th century. So, why not enjoy a very special ride along Blackpool’s Promenade, they have something to offer for everyone.

A trip to the seaside wouldn’t be complete without seeing some sea life! You can visit the sea life centre who showcase more than 50 dazzling displays and more than 2,000 spectacular aquatic creatures including tropical sharks, colourful reef fish, octopus, rays and sea horses.

With its array of attractions, amusements, shows and shopping, Central Pier is at the heart of the Blackpool coastline. The amusement arcade at the front of the pier is full of the latest gaming machines and attractions. Central Pier is home to Blackpool’s world famous “Big Wheel” and Sedgwick’s Fun Fair. Dare you try “The Extreme” or give the Waltzer a Whirl? For the little adventurers, there’s scaled down versions of these white-knuckle favourites.

No trip to the Sea side would be complete if you didn’t have a bag of fish and chips on the prom, Yorkshire Fisheries is one of the longest established fish and chip shops in Blackpool offering excellent food at good value for money.
