The Cotswolds famous for hundreds of honey-coloured limestone villages and chocolate box scenery is a stunning place to explore and during this tour we will visit Stratford-upon-Avon and cruise aboard a traditional Edwardian passengers launch, passing the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and Holy Trinity Church.

Day One

We depart from your home and travel to Leamington Spa for some free time before continuing to our hotel, arriving with time to settle in before dinner.

 

Day Two

Today we spend in Stratford-upon-Avon, we have included a cruise aboard a traditional Edwardian passenger launch which cruises downstream past the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and Holy Trinity Church, before turning around and passing under the 15th century Clopton Bridge. Once through the bridge, the scenery changes as we carry on upstream and discover quiet river banks and meadows with glimpses of large secluded houses and beautiful riverside gardens. There will be free time in town before we return to our hotel for dinner.

 

Day Three

After breakfast we depart our hotel for a tour of the Cotswolds, famous for hundreds of honey coloured limestone villages and chocolate box scenes, we make a stop at Bourton-on-the-Water, returning to our hotel via the city of Worcester on the banks of the River Severn.

 

Day Four

After a leisurely breakfast we travel to nearby Warwick, admission is included to the Castle which has over 1100 years of history, magic, myth and legend. Attractions include the Castle Dungeon (admission not included), the Mighty Trebuchet, Princess Tower and awesome interiors and rolling landscaped gardens. Free time in Warwick itself before we return to our hotel for dinner.

 

Day Five  

This morning we depart after breakfast for our homeward journey with comfort stops enroute.

 

 

WELCOMBE HOTEL,  - September departure

Swaddles in 157 acres of landscaped grounds, the hotel is within sonnet-shouting distance of William Shakespeare's birthplace, Stratford-upon-Avon. All rooms feature tea/coffee making facilities, complimentary toiletries and flat screen TV.
