You will visit some of England's finest destinations and gardens including Lamport Hall & Gardens, Boughton House, Rockingham Castle and Leicester Botanical Gardens.

Day One

We depart from your home and travel to the heart of England with comfort stops enroute, arriving at your hotel late afternoon, time to relax before dinner.

 

Day Two

After a leisurely breakfast, our first visit of the day is Lamport Hall & Gardens. The full experience includes a guided tour of the Hall with an experienced guide who will share stories of the Isham Family, the history of the Hall and the inspirational story behind the Hall's survival in the twentieth century. Visitors are then free to discover the gardens and the 'Through the Ages' exhibition, the Museum of Rural Life and whenever possible, the beautiful Parish church opposite the Hall where many of the lshams are buried. From here we travel to Boughton House, one of Britain's grandest and best-preserved stately homes. As well as the splendour of the House, you can also enjoy the 18th Century landscaped gardens.

 

Day Three

Our excursion today is to Rockingham Castle - This remarkable castle was built on the instruction of William the Conqueror and has been home of the Watson family for 450 years. Highlights include the Old Kitchen, the Panel Room, the Long Gallery and the Great Hall. Following our visit, we continue to Leicester and visit the Botanical Gardens. The 16 acres of lovingly cultivated grounds and greenhouses, display a wide variety of features and environments and the formal planting centres around a restored Edwardian Garden. Other planting includes an arboretum, a herb garden, woodland and herbaceous borders, rock gardens, a water garden, special collections of Skimmia, Aubrieta, and hardy Fuscia, and a series of glasshouses displaying temperate and tropical plants.

 

Day Four

This morning before we set off for our visit to Coventry, which has a colourful, rich past, documented across a thousand years of fascinating history. Today, Coventry has retained over 400 listed buildings, including Coventry Cathedral, from the finest Guildhall in the UK to pristine examples of Roman fortifications.

 

Day Five

This morning after breakfast we depart our hotel and begin our journey home with refreshment stops enroute.
